Powersports Market Development Manager

HB Performance Systems is in search of an avid powersports enthusiast to manage and break into the powersports product and accessories market. We're looking for a candidate who possesses a strong entrepreneurial mindset who is very self motivated.

General Summary:

Under the direction of the VP Commercial Sales, this position is responsible for the Company’s retail Parts and Accessories’ market. Responsible for identification and management of an appropriate and viable distribution channel to provide aftermarket parts for Powersports and Motorcycle industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review current business plan and make adjustments as required.
• Help establish the “line”, the “look” and the “identity” of the parts and accessory line by developing internal consensus and support.
• Help source components and packaging requirements, further establishing the “look”.
• Proof of concept through customer input.
• Determine and safeguard margin expectations.
• Initiate customer contact/portfolio.
• Maintain customer relations at a satisfactory level, including frequent on-site visits. Serves as internal liaison for the customer.
• Rationalize ineffective or unprofitable product lines; maximize high-margin successful products.
• Identify and manage new/existing opportunities/projects within customer base.
• Maintain relationships that will provide networking as well as market opportunities for potential acquisitions that may accelerate penetration.
• Create and maintain commercial information: communicate price points, customer forecasts, and timelines, manage margin expectations, communicate future expectations/ platform changes, etc..
• Manage growth and finances to identify timing to expand personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Avid powersports or motorcycle rider. A DOT cycle endorsment is a plus.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% both domestically and internationally. A passport will be required.
• Must have a proven sales background/record.
• Technical aptitude is a must including the ability to problem solve.
• Must have an exceptional ability to communicate with Customers at all levels and influence their decisions. Very strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be persuasive.
• Ability to assess HB’s product assortment and determine sales opportunities.
• Must have the drive and self-starter mentality to create new product lines and penetrate new markets.
• Demonstrated organizational skills including project and time management.
• Must be internet savvy as well as proficient with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Minimum years of Experience: At least 3 years of experience in an engineering role, or preferably occupying a sales/marketing role, within the Powersports or Motorcycle industry.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Will also consider candidates with a Bachelors degree in Sales/Marketing as long as candidate possesses strong technical ability.
